On Palm Sunday, April 1, the South Gate Youth presented In His Hands, a musical drama of the Greatest Story Ever Told.

The cast assembles at the Sanctuary door as it is nearly time for the drama to start.

During the opening number, the cast parades in and assembles at the front of the Sanctuary and joins together in singing. While there are few speaking parts in this drama, the majority of this story is told in songs.

In this scene we have Narrators (Jeff L & Brad M), Mary (Carrie B) Narrator (Tyler R), and John the Baptist (Brian B).

Jesus (Justin V) and the woman (Emily G) are left alone, after Jesus had challenged her accusers with the statement "Let he is who is without sin be the first to cast a stone."

Pontius Pilate (Aaron E), Joseph (Jason E), Teacher (Tyler R), Jesus (Justin Vt), Teachers (Jeff L & Kyle J).

In this scence with the song of "Go Out and Make Them Fishers of Men" song leader Rachel S sends out nearly the entire cast among the congregation to engage them in active participation in hand shaking, stomping feet, clapping hands, standing up and sitting down.

In this scene Pontius Pilate (Aaron E), is asked to pass judgement on Jesus (Justin V), of the accusations presented by the High Priests (Alfred S, Dave J, Rex N) and the crowd.

Narrators (Alyssa J, Heather S & Nicole G).

This musical included non-stop piano accompliment from the prelude to the very end. Barb N, at the piano, was also the musical's director. Each job had its share of challenges, however Barb handled both jobs simultaneously VERY WELL! Jason E joined in the instrumental accompliant with his drum during selected songs.

At the end of his life, Jesus (Justin V) stands alone.

As the musical comes to its conclusion, the cast assembles in a horseshoe formation around the front of the congregation. Pictured here are Rex N, Nicole G, Brad M, Brian B and Nate W.

The grand finale has the cast in joined raised hands, pictured are Aaron E, Justin V, Jeff L, Katy P and Lisa D.

The congregation offers their appreciation to the cast members assembled in a receiving line in the foyer.

For the only time during pratices and performance, the entire cast is assembled together for a photo opportunity after the final performance.
